Dr. Daniel Rexin, DDS

Guiding you to better health and a beautiful smile.

I was born in Bremerton and grew up just half a mile from Safe Harbor Smiles. While pursuing an engineering degree at Walla Walla University in Eastern Washington, I realized that I wanted a career where I could make a direct and tangible difference in people’s everyday lives.

Dentistry gave me that opportunity, allowing me to combine my passions for science, engineering, and serving the community I grew up in. I went on to study at Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in Southern California, where I had the privilege of learning from skilled clinicians who emphasized technical excellence and the value of service.

One of the most rewarding aspects of dentistry for me is helping people live healthier, fuller lives by preventing and treating oral disease. Whether it’s helping someone prevent cavities, performing a simple filling, or replacing missing teeth, it feels incredible knowing that my work has a positive impact on people’s daily lives. I also enjoy the technical challenges that come with delivering truly excellent dentistry that will stand the test of time.

In addition to dentistry, I hold dual citizenship in both the United States and Canada, and I have many hobbies and projects that keep me busy in my free time. I enjoy cycling (both road and mountain biking), backpacking, baking, kayaking, 3D printing, photography, and flying quadcopters. One day, I’d love to visit Thailand to cycle through its beautiful landscapes and enjoy the delicious vegetarian food.

Although I graduated in 2024, I have been treating patients throughout my training for the past three years, gaining valuable experience and honing my skills along the way.

Guiding you to better health and a beautiful smile.

When I’m asked why I chose dentistry and where I studied, I like to share that my interest in dentistry began when I was young. I had to have some teeth extracted to make room for my permanent teeth, and the dentists who treated me turned what could have been a scary experience into something positive.

That inspired me to help others in the same way, which led me to pursue a career as a dentist. I was fortunate to study at the University of Washington School of Dentistry.

If you’re curious about my favorite part of dental medicine, I’d say it’s treatment planning and guiding patients through their care. I enjoy helping people understand their treatment options and breaking down what can feel overwhelming-whether it’s due to anxiety, cost, or time-into manageable steps. Seeing a patient complete their treatment and regain confidence is incredibly rewarding.

People often ask for a fun fact about me, and I have a couple! I was a running back in college and actually broke my school’s single-game rushing record. I also once sumo wrestled a 600-pound sumo wrestler at a show called Sumo and Sushi-and I won!

When I’m not in the office, I love to spend my free time with my wife Fang and our three dogs, Rylie, Juno, and Lucy. We enjoy exploring the beautiful nature around Washington, heading up into the mountains or down to the beaches to take in everything the area has to offer.

If I could go anywhere in the world, I’d choose Thailand. My wife is from Bangkok, and I would love to experience the culture firsthand and meet her family.

As for how long I’ve been in dental medicine, I started volunteering in dentistry back in 2009, graduated from dental school in 2015, and went straight into private practice. I’ve loved every moment of it since.
